Are you looking for a way to tone your body? Are you looking for a way to relax your mind? Are you trying to find a way to reduce stress? Try a Tai Chi class! Tai Chi is shown to help you build up strength, balance, and flexibility. Through simple movements and the stillness of meditation, you can help your body and develop an ability to relax. You CAN gain control of your body and your mind.

2016-budo-camp-tai-chi-form We have been providing basic Tai Chi classes here on Staten Island for a year. Our students have told us that they are actually losing weight, because their clothes are a little too big. We have had a couple students state their doctor is impressed because of their lower blood pressure. Many have said that they feel more relaxed. Students give stories about how they are able to control their stress in anxious moments, when previously they would be overcome. Several of our students have commented on instances where they have been able to avoid a fall. Improved balance, better self-awareness, and self-assurance are all results that may come from the study of Tai Chi. It is true that everyone may not experience of all these benefits, but if done properly, everyone can experience some benefits.


scn_0004-9 Our classes are open to all ages and all physical abilities. All Tai Chi classes may be done standing, seated, or chair-supported (having a chair next to you to hold on to if needed). We evaluate the ability of each class, and plan our instruction accordingly. Wear comfortable clothes that allow your body to freely move. You will need proper footwear for physical activity.
