What are the benefits of Yoga?

Yoga has many benefits that everyone may enjoy! The physical benefits may be increased flexibility, strength, balance and power. Emotional benefits may be a release of stress, gaining a sense of inner peace, and enjoying a calm and centered being. One may also gain a greater awareness of self and the ability to be present in the moment. Once you begin the practice of yoga, you may notice a difference in the way you breathe, stand, walk and experience everyday activities.


What should I bring to class?

A water bottle and towel, a yoga mat, and comfortable clothing that allows you move freely.


Yoga Class

Fridays 8:30AM – 9:30AM at Zion Lutheran Church (505 Watchogue, Staten Island NY)

Chair Yoga

This yoga class is done seated in chairs. The postures are modified to be completed in a seated position. This is a good class for those who have concerns over mobility, and may not feel comfortable in a traditional yoga class.
Wednesdays 9AM – 10AM at Great Kills Moravian Church (62 Hillside Terrace, Staten Island NY)

Survivors Yoga

Overcoming physical and emotional trauma through Yoga and meditation practice.
Available upon request.


Stretch and Pray

Each week this gentle movement class joins the benefits of yoga, tai chi, centering prayer, and meditation in order to strengthen immunity, foster emotional and spiritual balance, lower blood pressure, increase flexibility, and reduce inflammation.
